Water Safety Instructor Course (Blended Learning)
Aquaventure is looking for candidates passionate about aquatics and eager to keep others safe in and around the water. Our American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor class will provide you the skills to plan and teach swim courses in a variety of skill groups. To qualify for this course you should be in good aquatic physical condition, plus have a general understanding of the strokes and skills listed below. A prerequisite skill evaluation is held during the first class and must be completed in order to proceed with the rest of the sessions. Prerequisite evaluation includes:
Perform the following strokes/skills proficiently:
Front Crawl: 25 yards
Back Crawl: 25 yards
Breaststroke: 25 yards
Elementary Backstroke: 25 yards Sidestroke: 25 yards
Butterfly: 15 yards
Maintain Position on back for 1 minute in deep water ( floating or sculling)
Tread water for 1 minute
Please note this is a Blended Learning course! This course includes in-water skill sessions and online education modules that must be completed outside of listed class times.
Registration can be completed at the Aquaventure Front Desk or online. Prior to the class start, participants will receive an email link to register with the American Red Cross. Once registered, participants will have access to the online modules that must be completed during this course.

Lifeguard Training Course (Blended Learning)
Aquaventure is looking for candidates passionate about aquatics and eager to keep others safe in and around the water. Our American Red Cross lifeguard classes will provide you the skills to supervise pool environments, react appropriately to emergency situations, and provide follow-up care to victims. To qualify for this course you should be in good aquatic physical condition, meaning you swim in a pool regularly with good endurance. A prerequisite skill evaluation is held during the first class and must be completed in order to proceed with the rest of the sessions.
Prerequisite evaluation includes:
- 300 yard continuous swim, using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of the 2 styles only
- Timed Event (2:00) – tread water using only legs
- Timed Event (1:40) – swim 20 yards, retrieve 10 lb. object, & swim 20 yards back to start
Participants must attend all classes and successfully complete written and physical skill evaluations.

Participants in need of lifeguard recertification should contact Aquaventure concerning process. The fee for recertification is $100 and must be paid prior to testing.
* Please Note: The lifeguard renewal class will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 1:00PM-6:00PM. Candidates must be currently certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard in order to attend this session. Candidates must arrive ready to demonstrate physical rescue skills and complete the written exam. The fee for the lifeguard renewal is $100.
